Quoted on the sleeve of this his third Mozart Concerto recording Piotr Anderszewski tells of ‘ambiguity par excellence’ asking ‘where is the light, where is the shadow’ in music of a supreme lucidity. It is, he says, ‘a miracle.’ So it is in performances of the rarest quality. True, Anderszewski is no stranger to controversy, and there are those who find him overly analytical, even forensic.
