Radio Antiqua is a recently formed group of young musicians which has been enthusiastically received at several major European festivals, most notably those of Ambronay in France and the Göttingen Händel-Festspiele. This new recording consists of late baroque chamber music featuring violin, recorder, bassoon, theorbo, cello and harpsichord in varying configurations. The programme makes a welcome departure from well-trodden paths so that even the seldom-recorded Telemann Trio sonata in F major for violin, bassoon and continuo breaks comparatively unfamiliar ground.
