Often the music lover focuses his gaze only on Europe with the notable exception of the United States and as regards Brazil, Villa-Lobos. Mariama Alcântara, violinist of particular sensitivity and virtuosity, demonstrates a double reality with this dedicated disc. On the one hand, the two Brazilian authors chosen – Flausino Vale, an author who lived in the early part of the twentieth century, and André Mehmari – show how the great European tradition has been absorbed and processed within cultures often felt, wrongly, distant (just listen the Match of Mehmari to realize it immediately). Secondly, it brings us to direct knowledge of a strong and powerful creative vitality which, in addition to taking from past traditions, creates new ones that are able to tell the spirit and feeling of an entire nation.
