Complete Recordings On Philips And Deutsche Grammophon – Riccardo Muti

The first-ever complete edition of Riccardo Muti’s recordings for Philips and Deutsche Grammophon, bringing together 33 CDs and 4 DVDs spanning more than 35 years of his recording career, from 1983–2019.

The collection showcases Muti’s distinctive approach to symphonic, operatic and concerto repertoire, characterised by clarity, structural integrity, dramatic intensity and vocal-inspired phrasing. It documents his celebrated relationships with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Wiener Philharmoniker, Berliner Philharmoniker and Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala, alongside leading soloists and singers including Luciano Pavarotti, Jessye Norman, Gidon Kremer, Vadim Repin, Rudolf Buchbinder and Claudio Arrau.

Highlights include the complete Brahms and Schumann symphonies, Muti’s Mozart symphony cycle with the Wiener Philharmoniker, landmark Prokofiev recordings with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Bruckner’s Symphony No. 2, and major opera recordings including Tosca, Manon Lescaut, Pagliacci, Guglielmo Tell and La donna del lago.

The four DVDs include Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Mozart Symphonies Nos. 40 & 41, and a performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with Claudio Arrau and the Philadelphia Orchestra, receiving its first-ever DVD release.
