Dvorak / Tchaikovsky: Vivo / String Serenades – KLK Symphony Orchestra

The string orchestra, very ancient and noble, allows the composer great expressiveness and refinement in writing. In this album we clearly see how two great interpreters of European romanticism like Dvořák and Tchaikovsky demonstrate this potential by writing what are now considered not only masterpieces in the genre of string serenade but real milestones in the history of music. Written a few years later and drawn up in a particularly important period for the authors, they are an example of their personal search for a synthesis between the musical panorama of Western and Eastern Europe, between the great German classics and the Czech and Russian national tradition. In this album the young conductor Alfonso Todisco himself finds a personal synthesis of this European dialogue at the head of the Ukrainian KLK Symphony Orchestra in a project that will also be a tangible contribution to the reconstruction and recovery of the country’s culture.
