Harry Connick Jr.: Babe: Elaboratio, A Tribute To My Mother – Harry Connick Jr.

Babe: Elaboratio is Harry Connick Jr.’s most personal work to date: a 50-minute orchestral piece for piano, big band, and full orchestra, written as a tribute to his mother. Connick was ten years old when his mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer; she died three years later, when he was thirteen. Sweeping in scope and deeply intimate in origin, Babe: Elaboratio finds Connick moving beyond the stage to reveal a side of his story he’s never shared before – the private grief, memory, and devotion behind the music. Whether you know Harry Connick Jr. As a Grammy- and Emmy-winning vocalist, pianist, actor, or bandleader, Babe: Elaboratio stands apart as a singular artistic statement – a son’s musical love letter to his mother, four and a half decades in the making.
