Horse Blues – Diego Figueiredo

With this collection of original compositions, acclaimed Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo expands his musical palette while remaining unmistakably true to the expressive voice that has made him one of today’s most celebrated guitarists. Best known internationally for his virtuosic acoustic performances, Diego embraces both electric and acoustic guitar throughout this recording, drawing on the unique character of each instrument to shape a richly varied musical landscape. Rather than representing a stylistic departure, the album reveals another dimension of Diego’s artistry as both guitarist and composer. The thirteen tracks reflect a lifetime of musical influences–Brazilian rhythms, jazz improvisation, blues traditions and lyrical storytelling–woven into original works that are melodic, engaging and deeply personal. From the uplifting energy of “Good Vibe” and the relaxed groove of “Just Relax” to the road-inspired “From Memphis to New Orleans,” each composition tells its own story while remaining connected by Diego’s unmistakable melodic touch. Joined by his brother Tacio Figueiredo on electric bass and Anderson Matos on drums, Diego performs with the natural chemistry of musicians who know when to lead, accompany and leave space for the music to breathe. Harmonica player Uira Cabral and keyboardist Gi Reis add carefully chosen textures that enrich the arrangements while keeping the guitar at the heart of every performance. Recorded in Franca, Brazil, during May and June 2026, the album captures an artist continuing to grow while remaining faithful to the qualities that first captivated audiences worldwide. Whether heard through the warmth of an acoustic guitar or the singing sustain of an electric, Diego’s music is defined by melody, rhythmic vitality and expressive playing. This collection is not about changing direction, but broadening an already remarkable musical voice.
