Joseph Haydn: 8 Mid-Late Keyboard Sonatas And Variations Hob. XVI, XVII – Chen Xueyuan

This double CD constitutes the second volume of an ambitious project entirely dedicated to F. J. Haydn’s keyboard works by Chinese pianist Chen Xueyuan. This release encompasses eight of Haydn’s most beloved Sonatas, including the three great works identified as Hob. XVI/49, 50, and 52, as well as shorter Sonatas, some of which are among the most played by piano pupils and amateurs. Together, and with the shorter pieces (such as Fantasias or Variation sets) also found here, they allow the listener to experience the full palette of Haydn’s talent.
