Mendelssohn / Delibes / Fauré: Veni Domine, Sacred Works In Latin For Female Choir – Coro Giovanile Femminile “Il Garda In Coro”

With the voices of Federico Florio, soprano and Alice Fraccaro, soprano and the Female Youth Choir “Il Garda in Coro”, this record celebrates the rare forays into the Catholic liturgy on Latin text for female choir by three authors of completely different backgrounds and styles. Mendelssohn, German and coming from Jewish tradition, Delibes and Fauré, both French but separated by very distant musical concepts and poetics. A project that in addition to re-reading some works today remained known, as is the case of the 3 motets Op. 39 by Mendelssohn, two absolute rarities such as the Messe brève and the short masterpiece Ave Maris Stella by Delibes and seven works of powerful writing and imagination by Fauré.
