Canadian group Theatre of Early Music (with excellent soloists stiffening the student voices of Schola Cantorum) offers rather detached, occasionally bloodless singing. A distant recording and cool, lachrymose atmosphere seeps into the listener through this elegantly conceived programme, culminating in a sensitive reading of J.S.
