Double debut in this album both for the composer, Luca Moscardi, and for the interpreter, Tania Cardillo. Contemporary music has always been crossed, in every era this is placed with respect to those who produce it and those who listen to it, by numerous currents, some avant-garde, others more conservative who looked to that ideal past often mythologized to have a different present from what you are experiencing. Therefore, writing compositions that in the 21st century maintain the forms and structures of tradition is therefore already in some way a very precise declaration of the type of past one is looking at, but in Moscardi’s case one takes a step further towards re-appropriation – therefore not only the evocation – of the forms of the past and their transfer into the present world, with a flow of notes, themes and above all the construction of an aesthetic that wants to be the daughter first of all of the great pianism of the past century and that ferries it into the world today. Tania Cardillo takes up the challenge and completes it giving the idea of having grasped the author’s idea (s) in an extremely precise way and through a pianism that often faces – in particular the two sonatas – the great virtuosity she builds. a first record of granite solidity that only hints at the infinite potential that both this music and its interpreter can reach.
