Mozart and the four-hand repertoire is certainly not new to the world of records, much rarer is instead to see the Salzburg author performed on one of the instruments that actually dominated the entire eighteenth century, the harpsichord. This last instrument, in turn, boasts a reduced production for this formation. Precisely in these two aspects lies the uniqueness of presenting three Mozart masterpieces in this completely new role by the duo composed of absolute specialists of the ancient repertoire such as Alberto Firrincieli and Mario Stefano Tonda who through their own investigation of the repertoire for duo are finally landed to the one who still represents perhaps the iconic figure in the history of music. Not a heretical listening then, nor even a desire for revisionism, if anything a successful attempt to broaden the repertoire capable of giving a vision from a still unexplored point of view of Mozart’s “keyboarding” no longer seen only from the piano point of view.
