Mystery Of The Mind – Eskil Roos

On his debut album, “Mystery of the Mind”, Swedish pianist and composer Eskil Roos combines lyrical piano playing with a dreamy musical language in which stillness and movement find equal expression. Thematically, the album turns its gaze inward and explores the processes behind our decisions: how the mind perceives, hesitates, and reacts, and how we are shaped by experiences we do not always fully understand. Rather than seeking clear-cut answers, the music lingers in a state of wonder, where intuition and mindfulness take precedence over control. Musically, “Mystery of the Mind” moves between Nordic jazz, classical, and folk. Together with Gustav Sundquist on double bass, Hampus Petersson on drums, and Adam Sass on trumpet, Eskil Roos invites listeners to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enter a soundscape where each composition tells its own story.
