Sollini: Works Vol. 2 – Francesco Castiglione

This album, entirely dedicated to the works of Marco Sollini, follows the previous publication of the “24 Piano Works”, also published by Da Vinci Classics (C00520). While the works of the first album were written between 2001 and 2007, the works featured in this second collection date back to more recent years – in particular they cover the period between 2018 and 2021. The originality of Sollini’s music is based precisely that it doesn’t need to look “original” at all costs. It is a type of modernity that looks to the past in all meanings with feet firmly planted in the present. In this second volume dedicated to his works, Marco Sollini himself is joined once again by Salvatore Barbatano and Francesco Castiglione as narrator in the short melologue.
