This album features world premiere recordings of songs by Tekla Griebel Wandall (1866–1940), a composer who debuted in the 1890s and continued her creative work throughout her life despite personal struggles. The collection spans her entire career, from early debut pieces to the esoteric visions of her later years. Performed by a superb line-up of rising Danish singers accompanied by pianist Laurits Dragsted, the works explore a range of emotional landscapes—from macabre irony in settings of Heinrich Heine to profound emotional journeys inspired by the poetry of J.P. Jacobsen.
