The Four Americans: Piano Music From The New World – Riccardo Caruso

First disc by pianist Riccardo Caruso which focuses on four composers who have marked the American piano genre with their production since the early twentieth century: Gershwin, Beach, Gottschalk and MacDowell. This “Music from the new world” reveals to a European listener first of all the deep ties that exist between the two worlds, between a conception still linked to the Central European nineteenth century and a cultural milieu that is gradually freeing itself from it, in search of new voices capable of representing a nation that has never stopped looking for itself.
