Francesca De Filippis chooses for her guitar project an unprecedented approach that had never been seen before in the world of records, that is, she retraces not the life of a composer or even that of an artist but that of a “living room”. In Paris, in the first half of the 1900s, many were the artists who, going to the capital, found protection and refuge with the Spanish pianist Ricardo Vines, becoming an essential meeting point for the development of languages, forms, theories and aesthetics. It was there that Debussy, Roussel and Satie met De Falla, Mompou and Pujol, the painters Picasso and Ortiz and the poets Valery and Cocteau in an unprecedented cultural milieu some and making the house of Vines a cultural reference point probably for the whole Europe of the time. De Filippis therefore chooses to “reconstruct” the sound of those walls and that world through his guitar, adapting compositions that were not directly designed for this instrument, as Minstrel by Claude Debussy or Cancion by Manuel De Falla and making them dialogue with the Compostelana Suite by Mompou or the pieces dedicated to Segovia by Roussel and Milhaud. A journey into a world not so distant from us and that allows us to fully understand one of the key points of the musical development of the modern world.
