Project born within the concert season “Armonie della sera” which saw the flutist Luisa Sello and the great French pianist Philippe Entremont, who returns after years to the disc with this publication, the splendid program of this disc recorded live leads us to a fascinating journey through some of the best known works of the entire French flute repertoire (including for example Claude Debussy (1862-1918) and Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921), among the best known), touching even lesser known pieces and including the world premieres of two contemporary works. The main unifying feature of the disc can be summed up in a question: how can the musical present relate to the musical past? The answer can be found in the context of a concert, whose live experience will always remain in the memory of the listeners, but whose recorded form is handed down through phonographic recording, going beyond time and the physical world, “living” forever in a recording.
