Bach: Continuum, Complete Gamba Sonatas – Duo Alambic

The duo made up of cellist Nicolò Nigrelli and accordionist Margherita Berlanda gives life to a record that makes sound and musical research its center. On the one hand it offers an unpublished, innovative and absolutely unique reading of the three Sonatas for viola da gamba by Johann Sebastian Bach, on the other hand it completes the work with two compositions inspired by Bach by the composer Ignaz Moscheles, also in the cello and accordion version. (in place of the original piano). The reason for a project that may surprise at first sight is to be found in the new and perfect sonic marriage of these two instruments which, in addition to lending themselves magnificently to the musical choice, creates a sound never heard before, capable of carrying the listener to the rediscovery of three masterpieces of the Kantor of Leipzig as never before has been done.
