Bernstein / Comitini / Liszt / Malipiero / Poulenc / Tosti: Cantiche – Federica Livi

Unquestionably the most important author of Italian literature still today almost certainly even in the centuries in Venire, Dante is the inspiration and the main engine of this record that commemorates the 700 years since his death and is at the same time the debut on the record scene by the soprano Federica Livi and Marta Tacconi. Far from being a mere homage, the Duo traces the three canticles of the author’s magnum opus, choosing different and distant authors to “tell” the spirit of the Cantiche starting from a “Prologue” with Liszt and through Bernstein and Malipiero arriving at Paradise. Crossing the whole project as a leitmotif is the homonymous work by Danilo Comitini written for the occasion of this title and which is inspired by three specific Cantos where the words of the poet himself resonate.
