Fairy Tales – Maria Gabriella Mariani

In her second disc rehearsal, Maria Gabriella Mariani chooses a program and a title that is anything but obvious, that is, the musical narration of children’s stories. Who better then than Robert Schumann and Claude Debussy have been able to tell this world by wisely probing all the most hidden aspects up to even the most playful and innocent ones. In the interpretation of the two masterpieces, the Neapolitan pianist shows a capacity for reading and analysis out of the ordinary, completely aimed at making these small stories turn out to be micro-worlds in themselves. A tension that is reflected in the original piece she composed, not surprisingly called Kinderliana. This does not create a tribute to the other compositions, if anything, it is placed in parallel as a third vision on the world of childhood, oscillating as in a true fairy tale between the immaterial world of dreams and a cruder reality with which each of us, at least once in life, he must learn to relate.
