College, Cambridge, under their director Silas Wollston, have followed their previous themed CD with a second, which is centred on the idea of music of ‘supplication and hope’. This does, inevitably, offer a wide range of music from which to choose, but Wollston has assembled a richly satisfying programme of music ranging from the Elizabethans and Purcell, through Mendelssohn (including the well-known Hear my prayer) and S.S.
