Giancarlo Simonacci is now recognized as one of the leading experts in contemporary music, his recordings in this field have been remarkable, as are his interests in the rediscovery of the lost Italian repertoire (Golinelli, Da Vinci Classics) or in the re-proposition in the key of a heartfelt tribute to one of the founders of contemporary musical aesthetics: Erik Satie. A tribute that is far from being exhausted in the sole proposition of the piano works, Simonacci in fact reworks some pieces, such as the notes Gnossiennes, for string quartet, expanding and introducing at the same time a strongly new point of view in a series of pages as well known as still, at times, indecipherable to listen.
