This marvellous Vespers with electronics (evoking bells, water and ambient noise) and a poly- phonic Magnificat for six voices by Deleuze (tart, uncompromising, often exquisitely beautiful sonorities accessing the numinous) sitting in complete ease beside plainchant Psalms, sung with organum devised by the performers, is a superb way to celebrate the 800th anniversary of Notre Dame de la Chapelle in Brussels and a fascinating bridge across a great tract of time.
