An impressive gift for the 400th birthday
Like the Bach family in Germany, the Couperins formed an important dynasty of musicians and composers in France. One of its greatest members, Louis Couperin, would celebrate his 400th birthday in 2026 – providing a welcome opportunity for Jean Rondeau to honor him with a very special gift: a ten-part complete edition of his harpsichord and organ works, recorded by the imaginative and idiosyncratic early music expert in inspiring locations on historical instruments or their replicas.
