Miserere D’Allegri, Itinérance Sacrée – Dulci Jubilo

Based in Montauban, in the Toulouse region, the chamber choir Dulci Jubilo was created in 2013 by Christopher Gibert. True to the “sweet joy” evoked by the ensemble’s name, these performers explore diverse repertoires with rigor, confidence, and sensitivity. Varying in musical setups from 8 to 24 singers, whether a cappella or accompanied, the ensemble’s mission is to embrace the adventure of contemporary creation by connecting and blending it with well-established repertoires.
This eclecticism is enhanced by the musical background of each singer, coming from different musical worlds while sharing the same passion for choral singing. Hailing from the musicology faculty of the Université Toulouse – Jean Jaurès as well as regional and departmental conservatories, the youth and dynamism of its members give the ensemble a unique energy. These qualities have been highlighted in numerous cultural events: Festival de Rocamadour, Nuits Musicales en Armagnac, Toulouse les Orgues, Festival des chapelles de Carnac, Printemps des poètes in Grenoble, Festival de Granville…
Christopher Gibert regularly crafts programs that showcase writing for choir and organ alongside Thomas Ospital, a longtime partner of the ensemble and an internationally renowned organist. The ensemble’s first album, Stabat Mater (2018), is dedicated to the choral compositions of its artistic director and earned a five-star distinction from Classica magazine. Their second album, Sheng (2022), is a monograph of works for choir and organ by the French composer Grégoire Rolland.
The ensemble receives support from the DRAC Occitanie, the Occitanie Region, the Tarn-et-Garonne department, SPEDIDAM, the Centre national de la Musique, and the Maison de la musique contemporaine.
