The musical project “Ô doux printemps d’autrefois” stems from an accurate research on the vocal repertoire that concerns the clarinet as a second voice alongside singing. The central part of the disc is made up of the German lieder repertoire with some other authors from northern and central Europe who referred to it and, as in a mirror, also two figures of capital importance in Italian opera such as Donizetti and Braga appear in this context. The Proscenium-Ensemble, guided with a sure hand by Stefano Ongaro, therefore chooses to make an unprecedented journey that explores the enormous ductility of the clarinet, choosing to bring in its own sound palette also an instrument less beaten in the nineteenth century such as the bass clarinet, and it does so by making use of a large group of interpreters, among which the soprano Lucia Porri and the mezzo-soprano Maria Lucia Bazza stand out, who together with the baritone Pierluca Porri give life and real voice-instrument duets of refined beauty.
