Orphee (Vinyl) – Johann Johannsson

Orphée is the final solo album by the celebrated Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson, released prior to his passing. The work is a profound and melancholic reflection on change and transformation, inspired by the myth of Orpheus. Jóhannsson weaves a complex and emotional soundscape in which hope and darkness are in constant dialogue. The music moves from Baroque influences to minimalist sounds, resulting in an intimate and compelling listening experience. The album marks a monumental culmination of an impressive career.

This album combines modern classical music with influences from ambient et minimalist electronica. The compositions build on a mix of orchestral arrangements, organ, choral sounds, and subtle use of tape loops and electronic textures.
