Marco Quagliarini’s work is placed in a particular point of Italian contemporary music. Outside the pre-established schemes but in the wake of a tradition traced in the past by eminent figures of reference. As he himself mentions in the score of the same name that gives the title to the disc, listening to his creations is “starting a long journey like a pilgrim to the source” which inevitably leads to another, more religious and intimate image, where it is perhaps the real key to understanding the heart of these compositions. Neapolitan pianist and composer, Quagliarini proposes in this first monographic disc a wide range of his production that goes from 2014 to 2018 and is supported by this journey of leading ensembles such as that of Sentieri Selvaggi directed by Carlo Boccadoro, or Samuele Taleari ( Accordion) and Arianna Venditelli (vocals) for Pater Noster, direct reference to the aforementioned religiosity, or the Quartetto Nous which gives life to the dreamlike and transfigured “From the dark”. A contemporary music disc that crosses various genres but which remains faithful to a unique style, which manages to impose its own musical vision that will not fail to fascinate those who together with him decide to embark on this research journey.
