Rome Open Music Experience: Aleatoric Music In Rome 1955-2023 – Rib Trio

This Da Vinci Classics album invites the listener to the exploration of aleatoric music written or conceived in Rome between 1955 and 2023. The featured composers were, or are, among the leading figures in the musical world of their generation. Many of them shared a similar itinerary, which frequently included attendance at the Darmstadt Ferienkurse, and the consequent acquaintance or discipleship with Karlheinz Stockhausen; for several of them, one result of their engagement in the creation and dissemination of contemporary music was the co-foundatino of the legendary ensemble Nuova Consonanza. Works by Branchi, Evangelisti, Panni, Scelsi, Schiaffini and Guaccero embody the variety and interdisciplinarity of a quintessentially Italian – and still cosmopolitan – approach to contemporary music, enriching the panorama of new music with a specific, unique voice.
