Salt Catchers – Andy Sheppard Trio

Following recognition of his earlier works, British saxophonist Andy Sheppard presents in Saltcatchers a new trio along with Italian pianist Rita Marcotulli and French double bass Michel Benita, two musicians with whom he cultivated a long artistic relationship, although they had never recorded together. Bringing together eight original compositions by Sheppard and one piece of Carla Bley, the album forms a repertoire of great melodic beauty, delicate harmony and a subtle interaction between the three performers. Recorded in 2025 and produced by Manfred Eicher, Saltcatchers offers intimate jazz, elegant and full of sensitivity.
