Secrets – Marianne Crebassa & Fazil Say

French mezzo Marianne Crebassa is currently causing quite a stir across the opera world, and features in four of this month’s releases. Not bad going for a young artist, just 30 years of age. Her first work for consideration is her album with pianist Fazil Say, Secrets, in which she wanders through the perfumed world of mélodies to gorgeous effect. Her voice is even and balanced, and she has the sophistication to sound simple and natural in her selection of music by Debussy, Ravel, Fauré and Duparc.
