The Hopper Piano Trio is a formation made up of three young musicians who embark on a project as risky as it is ambitious: to dominate despite the age and the undoubted skill of all the components three pieces for trio with piano stylistically distant and technically complex, succeeding to instill in each one a unique and primary spirit of formation. The record attests that this was a bet that was won across the board. Each member of the Trio demonstrates an out of the ordinary maturity and a harmony worthy of a long-term training, completely dominated by the romantic pages of Smetana’s Trio as well as attentive in the angular reading of Schostakovich’s youthful Trio and still absorbed in an almost contemplative way in the beautiful and rare Castelnuovo-Tedesco Trio.
