Hemisphaeria Trio, composed by the soprano Damiana Mizzi, the pianist Marcos Madrigal and the cellist Roberto Mansueto, offers in this work dedicated to three great vocal works of the twentieth century. In fact, with the participation of the flutist Andrea Oliva, they offer a new and very fresh interpretation of Maurice Ravel Chansons Madécasses masterpiece, a true hymn to the voice and its infinite variety of timbre and sound power, which they wisely flank the ideal of his continuation, that is, those Songs of Nature and Farewell by James Francis Brown who are in some way the spiritual heir of Ravel’s masterpiece that take up its echo and update it to today’s language. The disc closes with a very rare and fascinating cycle by the composer Liana Alexandra entitled Chant d’amour de la Dame au Licorne inspired by the famous tapestries now preserved at the Musée de Cluny in Paris and which reflect on yet another aspect of the voice and its placement in the great space that nature offers to man.
