Among the many, many composers that history has unfortunately forgotten, Stanislao Falchi can rightly appear. Unfortunately, this forgetfulness is also one of the many injustices that the “broom of history” has unfortunately perpetrated against a great deal of valuable art. This album, edited by the flutist Gian-Luca Petrucci, demonstrates how Falchi, an author born in Terni and lived in the passage between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, is anything but a secondary author, indeed, to the exquisitely Italian taste of much of vocal music. presented here, like the Poetic Hours of the title, are joined by highly lyrical-inspired pages such as the splendid Berceuse for flute and piano or the daring poetic mix of narrator, soprano and tenor of the ambitious Polychordon.
