Here is a record with an almost immaterial charm, which brings back to life a world like never before. In the course of the record’s history, parlor music has received constant interest, in particular that linked to the vocal repertoire of the nineteenth century. The instrumental field, on the other hand, has remained constantly in the shade mainly due to two factors: the difficulty in finding today the instruments of the time that have become increasingly rare decade after decade and on the other the difficulty of being able to adequately restore that lost world through a reconstruction sound as close to the original as possible. This is why the present disc is therefore to fill a void that is nothing short of enormous in the current recording scene, the resumption not only of the original repertoires that were sometimes composed and very often arranged for the living room, but also and above all a philological recovery of the actuals instruments used and prescribed in the score such as the Harmonium d’Art and the Harmonino. Aldo Brizi, a true pioneer in this sense, is assisted in this title by the equally excellent Giulio Giurato on the piano, Andrea and Roberto Noferino, respectively violin and cello with the addition of Anna Noferino on viola and Roberto Rubini on double bass.
