Sometimes one wonders why particular performances are singled out for release upon an unsuspecting world. If you attended a performance of Attila at the medieval fortress of Tsaverets in Bulgaria you’d probably have had a perfectly enjoyable evening – a good story well told in a traditional production against a dramatic historic setting. But why would anyone else really want to watch it? It’s not actively bad (though the tenor and baritone can remain nameless), but offers little of particular note.
