The musical world of France between the 19th and the 20th century was in full turmoil, its authors looked to the future in search of new sound combinations, able to describe how much they lived and at the same time to look for new ways to take. That world and its research is perfectly enclosed in the record of the flutist Filippo Mazzoli which shows how three apparently distant instruments such as flute, bassoon and harp find a perfect combination and balance in pieces that can be defined, as well as masterpieces of their genre, true and gems, examples are Vallones’ Impressions d’Espagne and the pieces by Dubois and Gagnebin, but also Debussy’s Bruyères, performed here as a world premiere in this group.
