Barry Cockroft: One Man Band Show, Music For Solo Saxophone – Marco Mancini

There are moments in which an interpreter identifies himself with the author he is playing to such a point that even the title becomes part of an album description itself, as is the case with this One Man Band, the saxophonist’s dazzling debut album. Marco Mancini. As a first experience Mancini becomes an orchestra and group and faces one of the most impervious repertoire for virtuosity and sound mimicry such as that of Barry Cockroft, literally getting confused with the chosen title and proposing an experience in which a single instrument, without external interference or another type, it becomes and reinvents itself a musical group.
