Bodies & Ideas – Léon Phal

“The spearhead of the new jazz/groove scene” (France Inter) In just a few years, saxophonist, composer and producer Léon Phal has become one of the most exciting jazz musicians of his generation. Following the critically acclaimed and publicly acclaimed album Stress Killer and a highly-acclaimed collab EP with acclaimed DJ and electronic music producer Folamour, released just a few days ago, Leon announces the upcoming release of his new album, Bodies & Ideas, on September 25 via Heavenly Sweetness/Sony Masterworks. Bodies & Ideas is a fantastic contemporary jazz album mixing groove, vocal neo-soul (with Italian singer Fabiana Martone on “Murmulea”), rap (with rising French rap star Jungle Jack on “Full Forest”) and, at times, electronic music (“UK Rain”) — as Leon knows so well.
