Complete Solo Guitar Works – Antonino Ierlo

It is difficult if not impossible to collect each individual’s works for guitar in a single monograph by author, as they in turn have dedicated one or at most two compositions to this instrument. Hence, the guitarist Antonino Ielo has decided to collect in a single disc all the guitar compositions of a composer who were not guitarists but that nevertheless decided at a certain point of their compositional activity to dedicate a few pages, which later became iconic in some cases , on the guitar, thus constituting a de facto “multimonographic” project. The consistent production of Turina, certainly the author most present on this record, is flanked by the works of Respighi, Poulenc, Malipiero and the rare pages of Ibert showing in a different way their approach, however personal if not really experimental in some cases, making regret for many of them the lack of other works dedicated to the guitar.
