Giacomo Cuticchio is a composer who needs no introduction to most, not so much for the rather imposing surname that binds him to a by now historical and consolidated tradition, as for a work dedicated to his land, started with the previous album on the Opera dei Pupi and that finds a direct fulfillment in this work “Mediterranean Concert”. Almost a challenge to create a work that could reflect the reality of this sea loved and hated at the same time, seen with hope and threat and capable of invoking immortal epics as well as small everyday stories. To complete the work, in addition to the concert that gives the title to the disc, there is also the large fresco dedicated to the Rose of the winds, a fundamental point of knowledge for anyone who wants to navigate the waters of this sea, but also a reference point for those winds that they lash our existence every day and to which we are often at the mercy. To perform his music the faithful Ensemble Giacomo Cuticchio and to further embellish this exceptional work chiseled of intimacy and passion the notes of the master Marcello Panni and a cover that shows one of the masterpieces of the master Piero Guccione entitled “Grande Spiaggia” of 1996. Unfortunately , destiny intended that this disc did not reach the painter who disappeared during its publication, representing however an important and inscrutable handover between two absolute protagonists of Sicilian life.
