Debussy, like Chopin, Liszt and his fellow countryman Ravel and a few others, is perhaps one of the most loved authors of the generations of pianists of the second half of the twentieth century and early 2000s. Presenting it again on record is therefore always a risk that Leonardo Zunica gladly took and came out the winner. His reading of the first book of the Preludes is characterized by a freshness and grace that has rarely been heard on record. The project is completed by a rare performance of the complex masterpiece Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune in the splendid piano version by Leonard Borwick.
