Deconstructing Download – Lorenzo Ricchelli

Moving from a famous song by John Dowland, the duo composed of Gabriele Zanetti and Lorenzo Ricchelli explore the interpenetration between pure sound and electronics. The Dowland piece is fragmented and disrupted by the English Natasha Barrett, in a fascinating dialogue between prepared guitar and computer that gives life to a true duet born from the ashes of Dowland. In addition to pieces by Berio, Stockhausen and an original fragment for solo guitar by Morton Feldman, the disc contains PYII, work for soprano sax, electric guitar, bass and drums by the German Ulrich Krieger. A sound investigation of the technical-compositional sublimation of some of the most important authors of the second half of the twentieth century.
