Dora Pejacevic & Amanda Maier: Piano Trios – Trio Orelon

This album by Da Vinci Classics is an invitation to the (re)discovery of two gifted female composers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, and of their Piano Trios. Dora Pejačević, a Croatian noblewoman, is considered as a pioneer of her country’s classical music, whilst Amanda Maier-Röntgen suffused her music with echoes from her native Sweden. Their Piano Trios are major achievements, firmly rooted within the classical-Romantic tradition, but also rich in innovative ideas, original thoughts, brilliant musical solutions and engaging traits.
