Pour (re)découvrir Lalo et la Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth
Après Vieuxtemps et Saint-Saëns, le Philharmonique de Liège s’attelle à une troisième intégrale concertante, celle d’Edouard Lalo. Elle regroupe des solistes de la Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, sous la baguette de Jean-Jacques Kantorow, baguette experte puisqu’il a déjà joué, en tant que violoniste alors, le Concerto russe et plusieurs des petites pièces, sur un beau CD Bis paru en 2012. Tel quel, ce coffret est fort intéressant, et révélera sans doute quelques oeuvres inconnues au mélomane. Parmi celles-ci, le tardif Concerto pour piano (1889) paraît le plus curieux. Très (trop ?) cyclique……
