Franz Schubert: A Moment In Time – Christian Blackshaw

In “A Moment in Time,” pianist Christian Blackshaw explores the intimate world of Franz Schubert with rare depth and sensitivity. Through the Four Impromptus, D. 899 and the final Piano Sonata in B-flat major, D. 960, he captures the voice of a composer suspended between light and shadow, hope and farewell. With refined touch and deep emotional insight, Blackshaw invites listeners into Schubert’s most personal musical reflections—moments of stillness, beauty, and quiet transcendence. This 2025 release showcases these profound masterpieces as definitive statements of Schubert’s late piano style.
