The unsuspecting listener might be forgiven for thinking they were entering Mozart’s operatic world as Harry Christophers extracts every ounce of drama out of the Mass in C major. In the conductor’s hands it’s a joyous work and comes as no surprise that it was used at coronations. The performers respond to all that is asked of them, turning it into an exhilarating ride.
