This 3CD set was recorded on 7 days between 7 and 23 August, 1994 at the Salzburg Mozarteum, in cooperation with the Salzburg International Mozarteum Foundation’s Mozart Week, Ombra Felice. It features a broad programme of works comprising rarely heard individual arias, scenes and fragments for soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, speaker and double bass, or a combination, with orchestra or piano. These include abandoned or unfinished drafts, as Mozart’s singers (or sometimes Mozart himself) were not always entirely satisfied with them, while others were contributions to foreign opera productions, which were often performed in the form of pasticcios at that time.
