Jo Nesbo certainly needs no introduction, indeed, he can easily be considered as one of the most successful writers of the last 30 years. It is therefore normal that an attentive and sensitive artist like Marco Cappelli, within his personal project dedicated to thrillers, has chosen his pen and atmospheres to tell us about his latest work. Already composer of soundtracks and director (In the Shadow of No Towers, 2011), the multifaceted guitarist of Neapolitan origin and American by adoption, chooses not to tell us about Nesbo’s books through a didactic narrative, instead he approaches with that oneiric spirit omnipresent in detective novels, which first describes the atmosphere in which these events move, even before any character is actually introduced to us. He is not alone in bringing us into this world, together with his faithful Marco Cappelli Acustic Trio (Satoshi Takeishi and Ken Filiano) alongside artists such as clarinetist Oscar Noriega and DJ Olive. Together they give life to a record capable of making the depth of Nesbo’s writing perceive in every note, going beyond the boundaries of the word and penetrating a world where only the imagination can find a place, so much so that at times it becomes a pretext for a potentially infinite musical narration, such is the creativity and continuous creation and invention that all the performers, under the guidance of Cappelli, are able to bring to a disc that cannot fail to be listened to and discussed by every fan (Jazz or classical no longer matters) of music and / or literature.
